Registration

Cost and How to Register

The Midwest MLA Annual Meeting will have both virtual and in-person rates for attendance this year.

We are not distinguishing this year between “early” and “late” registrations. However, early registrations will help us greatly in planning for food and other accommodations. We encourage you to register as soon as you are able.

We are happy to say that no rates are going up this year, in fact most rates will be going down, as indicated in the table below. This is due in part to our decision, based on member feedback, to skip the Thursday night reception this year.

Costs for attendance are:

Regular, in-person: $65

Student/retiree: $40

One-day: $45

Virtual: $20

To register, please fill out this form and follow the instructions listed.

Scholarships

Midwest MLA offers two scholarships to help students and paraprofessionals attend the conference. You can find more information about them below. The information is in the attached pdf documents.

The Leslie Troutman Scholarship provides support for attendance at chapter meetings by staff and paraprofessionals working in music libraries or with music collections in libraries in the Midwest Chapter region.

The Phyllis J. Schoonover Scholarship for Student Members provides support for attendance at chapter meetings by students who are enrolled in a library school in the Midwest Chapter region.

Both scholarships support portions of the expenses related to attending this year’s annual chapter meeting October 24-26, 2024 in Detroit, Michigan.
